Kopdar 2021, Governor Reminds Mayors of West Java's 2022 Innovation leap

*BOGOR DISTRICT* - The Kopdar innovative forum or Regional Development Communication was held again for the first time after being suspended for 1.5 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bogor District had the honor of hosting a meeting between the Governor of West Java and the regents/mayors of West Java.

The theme for Kopdar this time is West Java jumps in 2022. The governor asks for the commitment of the regents/mayors to work together and make a positive contribution to the welfare of the community and the progress of the nation.

Governor Ridwan Kamil said, there will be many innovation leaps that will be carried out in 2022, including making efforts to knock on investors' doors to bring in investment, development projects, and jobs for the community.

According to him, funding through the APBD is only sufficient for 20 percent of development. The shortfall must be driven by investment, both domestic and foreign.

"There will be innovation leaps like we encourage regions to knock on doors for outside investments so they don't just rely on the regional budget to develop their regions," said Ridwan Kamil at Bale Gede Sentul Highland, Bogor District, Tuesday (30/11/2021).

In addition, the Governor also hopes that in the midst of this pandemic the tourism sector can still jump with innovations and new approaches, at least it can survive the storm, thankfully it can bring in revenue for the region.

"Increasing tourism, which has been proven during COVID-19, is an extraordinary source of income, it's just a matter of managing the process," said Ridwan Kamil.

The governor said that there were predictions that the West Java economy in 2022 would be bright. Bank Indonesia's annual report states that all elements of the West Java economy next year will improve even more.

"There is an economic prediction that in 2022 West Java's economy will be bright and cheerful, because all economic elements in BI's annual report are all improving," the Governor hoped.

The governor reminded the regents/mayors not to let this positive economic trend be undermined by COVID-19 due to people ignoring the progress and weak local government supervision.

"Don't let the already positive economy be hampered by the potential for COVID-19 because of the lack of progress, including the potential for new variants that have now emerged in other countries," he said.

In addition, the Governor also wants there to be a vaccination jump in districts/cities, where West Java itself has a target of 37 million people being vaccinated by the end of December 2021. There are areas where vaccination attainment is high, but some are low.

"We want the vaccination coverage target by the end of this year to be achieved," said Ridwan Kamil.

The governor also reminded the regents/mayors that they must be prepared for a leap in bureaucratic reform, in which according to President Joko Widodo's instructions, starting in 2022, echelon 3 and 4 positions will be removed at the ministry level.

"We are trying to adapt it at the provincial, city/district level so that the bureaucracy will be leaner but work more productively. Routine work will be replaced by machines," concluded the Governor.
