BANDUNG CITY – West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil inaugurated the Acting Mayor of Tasikmalaya Muhammad Yusuf as the definitive Mayor of Tasikmalaya for the 2017-2022 term.
"Today the inauguration that the residents of Tasikmalaya City have been waiting for has been carried out, namely the inauguration of Haji Muhammad Yusuf, formerly the Deputy Mayor, now definitively the Mayor of Tasikmalaya until the end of his term of office in 2022," said Ridwan Kamil during the inauguration at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Friday ( 10/9/2021).
In his mandate, the Governor asked the mayor to embrace young people in promoting tourism because the City of Santri has extraordinary natural, cultural and culinary potential.
"That is my hope so that Mr (Muhammad Yusuf) ends his position with husnul khotimah as well as progress that will become people's love for you," he said.
The governor also said that this inauguration can strengthen existing policies because Muhammad Yusuf has de facto worked as Acting Mayor of Tasikmalaya City. However, the governor left several messages.
"First, do not repeat the legal events that have stalled the development of the City of Tasikmalaya," he said.
Second, the COVID-19 pandemic was quickly controlled by various local policies that were in line with the provinces and the center. "So we can focus on building and promoting tourism as Tasikmalaya's economy," he said.
Finally, the Governor hopes that the City of Tasikmalaya will advance through various innovations, especially in poverty alleviation, which is still a major concern. (fgy/rdi)
