Received a Visit from the Japan Ambassador, Ridwan Kamil Explains West Java's Potential

BANDUNG – Governor Ridwan Kamil received an official visit from the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E Kanasugi Kenji, at the West Java Governor's official residence, Pakuan Building, Bandung City, West Java, Thursday (03/02/2022).

During his visit, Ambassador Kanasugi, accompanied by the First Secretary and Third Secretary, conveyed several essential points related to cooperation, especially during the pandemic.

Ambassador Kanasugi expressed his concern for the Covid-19 cases, which have started to increase recently. He said that around 260 foreign nationals from Japan living in Indonesia were not spared from the pandemic, and 26 died.

Therefore, Ambassador Kanasugi asked Governor Ridwan Kamil to pay attention to Japanese citizens who mostly live in West Java to administer vaccines and hospital facilities that Japanese citizens can access.

In this meeting, Ambassador Kanasugi also conveyed how important the city of Bandung is to the history of the Japanese state.

Since being invited to the Asian-African Congress in 1955, the Japanese state began to be active in international relations until finally invited to join the United Nations in 1956.

Governor Ridwan Kamil welcomed the arrival of Ambassador Kanasugi. He conveyed several potentials possessed by the Province of West Java, including Renewable Energy (Renewable Energy), Geothermal Energy (Geothermal), Technology Implementation in rural areas, Electronic Vehicles, recycling plastic waste, and The automotive sector Japan's leading country in the world.

In addition, Governor Ridwan Kamil offered to revitalize the Sentul circuit in Bogor Regency to be reused and added value for promoting the Japanese automotive industry.

At the end of his meeting, Ambassador Kanasugi welcomed the proposal for cooperation offered by Governor Ridwan Kamil and said that Indonesia and Japan are complementary countries in terms of population demographics and hoped they could work together to build the future.
